Across the divides…

With operations around the globe, our programmes target strategic opportunities to create change. Different situations call for different approaches but all our projects are driven by the purpose of building trust across the world’s divides. To enhance their effectiveness, programme representatives meet yearly at our international conference centre in Caux, Switzerland, together with other leading peace practitioners, officials and academics to exchange experiences and best practice. Peace and trustbuilding

Creators of Peace (CoP)

An initiative from women in Africa, this informal network of men and women committed to peace-making now spans five continents and works through conferences, peace circles and community action. Download 2-page A4 factsheet (PDF, 151kb)

Hope in the Cities (HIC)

Bringing communities together to address the issues of racial healing. Launched in Virginia, USA, the program now has partners in Europe, South America and Australia. Download 4-page A4 factsheet (PDF, 228kb)

Education for Peace

Teaching school children how to manage conflict constructively and without violence.

Great Lakes Project

Working for peace in the African Great Lakes region. Preparing hearts and minds and bringing people together so that peace agreements can be signed and implemented.

Transforming society and culture

Clean Elections Campaign

Educating voters about issues of corruption and inviting all to pledge to refuse to participate in bribery or violence.

Foundations for Freedom (F4F)

A program for training and developing young leaders in Central and Eastern Europe. F4F fosters commitment to the values that underlie a truly free society at all levels of government and civic life. Download 2-page A4 factsheet (PDF, 112kb)

India I Care

Encouraging Indians to make a difference wherever they are through acts of personal responsibility which contribute to the 'character bank of India'.

Renewal Arts

An international network of people who share the conviction that the different forms of art can be positive and powerful forces for changing our personal lives and the wider world.

Global economy and sustainability

Caux Forum for Human Security

Bringing together peacemakers, politicians, environmentalists and campaigners from both government and grassroots organizations to explore the interconnectedness of human security, climate change, good governance, corruption and the economy.

Caux Initiatives for Business (CIB)

Farmers' dialogue

Building farmer to farmer links across national boundaries and across set ways of thinking, creating fresh perspectives for our planet's largest industry and renewing the calling of farmers to feed the world.

Centre for Ethical Leadership and Training (CENTREL)

Based in India, running short residential programs for business and civic leaders. Participants discover what constitutes ethical behaviour in their personal, organisational and social lives; understand the relevance and benefits of ethical behaviour; learn approaches to respond ethically to challenges; and discover the source of awareness, courage and inspiration to live a full life.

Training and capacity building

Action for Life (AfL)

A nine-month training and outreach program based in Asia, mobilising a new generation of change-makers committed to bringing transformation and healing in themselves and the world. Download 2-page A4 factsheet (PDF, 132kb)

Life Matters course

A nine-day residential course for an international group of young adults to shape a path and purpose for living, based in Australia. Modules include community-building, facing the facts of history, identity and creative approaches to managing conflict.

Caux Scholars Programme

The Caux Scholars Program focuses on the moral and spiritual dimensions of peacemaking and on the relationship between individual transformation and change in the world. It is held every year in July/August at Mountain House, Caux, the international centre of Initiatives of Change.

Hope in the Cities: Connecting Communities Program

Drawing on 10 years experience tackling racial divides in America, CCFP increases the capacity of communities to solve problems together by creating a network of skilled facilitators, capable team builders, informed advocates and credible role models.

Centre for Training Ethical Leadership (CENTREL)

Tools for Change

A conference and training program at the Initiatives of Change centre in Caux, Switzerland, which draws on teachers from inside and outside the IofC network to develop and share resources for peacebuilders and agents of change.
