Harambee Leadership Training
A team of young Africans from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe have been organizing for the Harambee Africa leadership training programme which is an offshoot of the Clean Africa Campaign (CAC) that first took place in Kenya in 2003, in South Africa in 2004 and then a third one in Ghana in 2005.

Harambee Africa aims to face the reality of Africa today and answer it with trained young men and women who have found the answer to dishonesty, greed, lack of self-discipline and accountability. Young women and men who will dare to live as God directs and go where God guides.

The pilot Harambee Africa programme will take place over eight weeks from 20 September this year, ending on 15 November. It will start with an initial intense two week training programme at Sizanani Conference Centre for 20 young people, aged between 22 and 32 from various African countries, plus one or two from outside the continent. Eight trainees will be selected to continue with a five week outreach program from 4 October, to communities, colleges, schools and universities using their own stories of change through talks, music, role-play, sketches etc.

At the end of the outreach period the trainees will take time for personal evaluation and reflection as well as evaluation of the program as a whole. It is envisaged to make this programme available for other African regions over the coming three years.
